Scheduling Handbook

2018 - 2019 KHS Scheduling Handbook

This scheduling handbook is designed to help you make your high school course selections. Our school staff created this publication for your use and benefit. Included in it are expectations for careers, information about college, department and course offerings, graduation requirements, and miscellaneous policies related to high school scheduling.

All of the course choices can seem overwhelming at first. We hope this handbook, along with advice from your family, counselor, teachers, and administrators can help you make the important decisions that will prepare you BEST for life after high school. Teenagers cannot always determine precisely what they will do once leaving our high school. However, with careful planning, persistence, and strong work habits, a student can prepare for many post high school options.

Please look through this handbook carefully, thinking not just "What will get me through?" but rather "What will prepare me to go to college or get that job I might want in the future?" I have great confidence in the education and skills of our teachers, and I look forward to having you at KHS in the coming year. Go Hornets!

Mr. Brian Wiskur

Students who are interested in applying to GCI for the 2018-19 school year need to be aware of the following:

1) KHS students may ONLY take GCI during 1st Session (0, 1st, and 2nd Periods) or 3rd Session (end of 4th, 5th, and 6th Periods).  2nd Session is NOT an option for KHS students.

2) If you are accepted to 1st Session GCI, you must have your own transportation up to KHS by 6:15AM each day.  The GCI bus picks up 1st Session students in the North/Student Parking Lot.

3) If you are accepted to 3rd Session GCI, you will end up missing about 20 minutes from the end of your 4th Period KHS class in order to catch the GCI bus, which picks up 3rd Session students outside of the doors to the KHS Cafeteria.
